Fund Raising Discussion
A Sock Hop is coming up for another
Class
Toney suggested a Valentine's Blue
Gold Ball to increase and give scholarships to students who need them.
Alice asked when will we begin to
collect/pay dues; the more we do the greater chance we'll have surplus.
Motion made to do complete one or
more fund raisers per year.
Alice suggested an auction. Toney
suggested a Raffle and not to hesitate to put forth ideas.
Fund raiser motion by Alice,
seconded by Geneva.
By-Laws Discussion- Toney
Still a need for By-Laws as they set
out Terms of Officers/ Board of Directors explaining duties/responsibilities as
we are trying to get things standardized so we'll know who is what.
They have to be read/modified to fit
our need. There should be a way to put people in leadership positions by a
process. We need to always represent Ligon High School.
Acting responsibly, we should be
able to go out and ASK for contributions and not necessarily do fund raisers;
to ask corporations/businesses to contribute to our Scholarship Fund as we
represent Ligon High School.
Toney will be sending everyone a
generic set of By-Laws for class members to make suggestions / changes, as
stated before, to get things standardized/organized / adopted / rejected by the
Class.
